Update: Trot Singer Lee Chan Won Diagnosed With COVID-19 + Variety Show Co-Stars And More Test Negative

More celebrities have shared negative test results after being tested due to potential exposure to COVID-19.

Lee Hwi Jae’s agency Cube Entertainment stated, “Lee Hwi Jae and all the staff who took part in filming received negative test results. However Lee Hwi Jae has been classified as someone who was in close contact with a confirmed case, and so he will be postponing all his scheduled activities and continuing self-quarantine, as per disease control guidelines.”

Lee Ha Jung has also tested negative. She shared on Instagram, “The cast of ‘Taste of Wife’ and the cast of ‘PPONG School’ have all received negative test results.”

Singer Lee Ji Hoon shared on Instagram that he tested negative for COVID-19. He expressed his hopes for Lee Chan Won’s quick recovery.

Celebrities including Seo Jang Hoon, Yoon Jong Shin, the band Jaurim, and Lee Juck work with the same stylist as Lee Chan Won. Negative test results have now been shared for the stylist, Seo Jang Hoon, and Yoon Jong Shin. Jaurim did not meet with the stylist for a week. Trot singer Lee Chan Won has tested positive for COVID-19.

On December 3, his agency released the following statement:

This is New Era Project.

Lee Chan Won received a diagnosis of COVID-19 in the early morning of December 3.
He therefore immediately began self-quarantine and is following the required steps set out by the disease control authorities.
Currently, everyone with a connection to Lee Chan Won is undergoing testing and some have already finished testing and are in self-quarantine.
He has halted all activities and will be carrying out his full social responsibilities according to the disease control authorities’ guidelines until the situation is safe.

We express our apologies as his management for our failings when it comes to the care of our artist.

As one of the Top 6 from the hit show “Mister Trot,” Lee Chan Won is a cast member of television programs including TV Chosun’s “PPONG School.” The network shared that Lee Chan Won had filmed for the show on December 1, and all the cast and staff who took part in filming that day have been informed that he tested positive. They stated that regardless of whether or not they were in direct contact with him, everyone was undergoing testing and had entered self-quarantine.
