tvN’s upcoming drama “The Potato Lab” has offered a sneak peek of Lee Sun Bin’s character!

“The Potato Lab” is a new romantic comedy drama set in a rural potato research institute. The story follows Kim Mi Kyung (Lee Sun Bin), a researcher whose life revolves entirely around potatoes, and So Baek Ho (Kang Tae Oh), a cold and principled corporate director. When So Baek Ho unexpectedly enters Kim Mi Kyung’s world, the two find themselves entangled in a whirlwind romance.

The newly released stills highlight Kim Mi Kyung, a researcher who has dedicated her life to potatoes. Mi Kyung spends more time digging in potato fields and greenhouses than in labs. Wearing a sun cap and floral arm warmers, she exudes a down-to-earth, confident vibe, offering a glimpse of her bold personality as she steps into a farmer’s classroom. With 12 years of experience, Mi Kyung comes across as a seasoned professional, sparking curiosity about her daily life at the research institute.

Lee Sun Bin, who found the characters in “The Potato Lab” both diverse and appealing, shared, “I read the script really quickly. When I first read it, I thought I could showcase realistic and relatable acting in an enjoyable way. I wanted to take on a project like ‘The Potato Lab’—something lovable and grounded.”

Lee Sun Bin further described her character, saying, “Mi Kyung might seem strong and righteous with a fiery personality, but she is also full of kindness, tears, and love. She is incredibly empathetic, like someone [whose MBTI would be] 200 percent F.” She added, “Since the character has many appealing qualities, I worked hard to show her diverse and lovable sides.”
