O – Overwhelmed with all the attention he gives you…..

In conjunction with her birthday celebration, I've written a brief history of Choi Ji Woo's debut in TV dramas ~~

First love (Cheot Sarang – 1996) ....CJW at the age of 21 debuting as Kang Suk-Hee, pure and innocent university student whom had been brought up in a well-to-do family.  Meeting Bae Yong Jun who played Sung Chan-Woo whom she had showed some interest~~ bumping into him most of the time at the Uni’s cafeteria.  Unfortunately, their meeting was not meant to be first love but more of an acquaintance…..not knowing by fate they’ll meet again 6 years later…..

Mmmph~~ Bae Yong Jun was CJW’s first love in a drama?? ;)

Love (Sarang – 1998) – Playing Yu Ji-Young, the daughter of a Chairman who owns an automobile plant.  Returned from abroad and managed the Design Department and later fell in love with the introvert, Jang Dong Gun who played Jung In-Ha, a designer cum car tester. Unfortunately, she suffered from unrequitedl love.

Saranghaeyo?…..too bad, didn’t recall Jang Dong Gun declaring his love for CJW!! Wink

In Search of Love (Yujeong – 1998)  – Playing the daughter of a florist who walks with a limp.  CJW played the role as Eun Ji-Su a sweet, young and innocent girl.  She met Ryu Jin , Han Jae-Hyuk who initially wanted to con her but later fell in love with her.  They are many obstacles in their relationship as Jae-Hyuk’s blemished background is not every mother’s ideal son-in-law.

Still searching for love~~ BYJ? JDG? and now Ryu Jin???

Honesty aka Truth (Jin Shil – 2000)  – CJW playing Lee Ja-Young who grew up together with the nasty and conniving daughter of her father’s employer, a politician.  She is very smart in school and grew up even tougher after being jilted.  Ryu Shi Won, who played Jung Hyun-Woo was interested in her the moment he met her.  It took Hyun-Woo some time to gain Ja-Young’s love.  Needless to say, their relationship was not smooth sailing as Park Sun Young who played the evil character,  Shin-Hee kept tarnishing Ja-Young’s reputation in front of Hyun-Woo’s mother. I fell in love with RSW's smile....a genuine smile!

Honestly…..if you watch this drama, you’ll understand how deep is RSW’s love for CJW! Love this couple…..

Mr Duke (Sin Gwikongja – 2000) – CJW’s role as Jang Soo-Jin, portraying a tycoon’s daughter.  She is often well protected by her parents.  You’ll be able to enjoy watching CJW being dressed up beautifully and often looked “rich”. On the other hand, poor Kim Seung Woo (Kim Yong-Nam)…..didn’t look as great as he did in Hotelier.  What else can I expect of him since his job is to deliver huge container of water.  CJW engaged him to be her boyfriend as she was tired of being matched with other guys by her mother.  Of course as expected, she fell in love with him……

Mr Duke...... (wonder why they name this drama Mr. Duke??)

Beautiful Days – (Areumdawoon Naldeul – 2001) – CJW as Kim Yoon-Soo an orphan met Lee Byung Hun ( Lee Min-Chul) an arrogant and cool guy who hardly have good words for people.  Together with Ryu Shi Won (Sun-Jae) they both fell in love with Yoon-Soo.  Actually, Yoon-Soo was more comfortable with Sun-Jae since she hardly can communicate with Min-Chul.  But I like to watch Min-Chul’s jealous look whenever he bumped into them in the house.  This is the drama that gave me a shock when I witnessed the kissing scenes of Min-Chul and Yoon-Soo…grinding my teeth when I felt Sun-Jae was being deprived of such explosive kiss….(coz there were none between YS and SJ). One of the best drama with beautiful songs~~ CJW forever beautiful.....

Nay…don’t think there were many beautiful days….coz too many heart-wrenching scenes in the storyline more than happy moments….  Embarassed

Winter Love Song/Winter Ballad/Winter Sonata (Gyeoul Yeonga – 2002)  – One of the most memorable drama that sent everyone packing to visit the filming sites of the drama……CJW as Jung Yu-Jin who fell in love with Kang Joong Sang/Lee Min-Hyung (Bae Yong Jun).  Meanwhile Kim Sang Hyuk (Park Yong Ha) is deeply in love with her….(another triangle love-hate relationship between Joon-Sang –Yu- Jin and then Min-Hyung-Oh Che-Lin (Park Sol Mi) and then back to Yu-Jin and Joon-Sang….break-off due to some misunderstanding of their blood ties (many thanks to Joong-Sang’s mum)….

Aahh....they revived their relationship and fell in love after their first encounter in First Love....did they end it here???  Smiled

Stairway to Heaven (Choonkukui Gyedan - 2003) – CJW as Han Jeong-Suh/Kim Ji-Su who had been friends with Kwon Sang Woo (Cha Song Ju). They met…became best friends….developed a puppy love…..separated unwillingly…...met less than few seconds…..HJS died?.....CSJ left for overseas again..….came back after 5 years…..met KJS/HJS again…..reunited….split…...reunited again…..fell sick…..went blind.... married her…..love her till death……

Indeed…..the "heavenly couple" will meet again in heaven…....one of the most truly...truly...heart-wrenching love story and among all the characters who had loved CJW’s character, I believe…Cha Song Ju loved her the most…..…. Cry

Rondo….(Rinbukyoku - 2006~~J/K Production) ….CJW as Yoona/Ai Sakura…..most intriguing role character that sets her apart from her previous role.  Even though there is very much less lovey-dovey scenes of Yoona  with Takumi (Yutaka Takenouchi), I find both of them very compatible….matching in terms of look, age and height~~the only set-back is their language barrier! If you are a fan of CJW, you should watch this drama to appreciate her superb performance in this drama and of course, Yutaka, one of the most sought-after J-hunk.....should be equally praised for his perfomance too.

Gee....the story developed too fast...less episodes ...hence foregoing some of the much anticipated smooching scenes...hoping their love will be extended to Part II ...if any.....  <_<
