- Hwanhee graduated from Kwang Moon High School before his Fly to the Sky debut in 1999. He was encouraged to audition by a staff member working for SM Entertainment at his high school festival.

Acting career

- Hwanhee's acting debut was in 2006, when he participated in the Korean drama Over the Rainbow as cocky rock star Rex, alongside Kim Ok Bin, Seo Ji Hye and Ji Hyun Woo. He contributed three songs to the OTR soundtrack.

- Hwanhee's second drama Saranghae (I Love You) was aired earlier this year. He played a single father, Park Byung Ho, who learns to love after many mishaps.

- Currently, Hwanhee is appearing in a variety show, We Got Married, along with Hwayobi, a fellow R&B singer, as a couple. The pair first appeared in the Chuseok special on Sept 14, 2008 with two other couples Marco & Son Dambi, and Choi Jin Young & Lee Hyun Ji. Fans enjoyed the refreshing pairing and dubbed them the "Hwanyobi couple". Hwanhee and Hwayobi, and Marco & Son Dambi were later selected to be permanent couples on the show, replacing Andy & Solbi, who were leaving.
