사기를 당한 소영(장진영)의 가족들은 송여사의 도움으로 어렵사리 자리를 잡는다. 소영과 문영(유선)은 학교에서 쓸 미국이름을 마리아와 에바로 짓고 난 후 모처럼 환한 표정을 짓는다. 한편 고모집으로 입양된 해리(송일국)와 카렌(최자혜)은 미국인 고모부의 학대를 받고 힘들어 한다. 해리는 카렌이 잠을 못이루며 아빠를 부르자 고모부에게 발각될 것을 염려해 동생의 입을 막아 버린다. 해리는 만취한 미국인 고모부가 동생 카렌을 성추행 하려고 하자 총으로 빌을 쏘고 도주한다. 버스회사에 취직한 성식(성지루)은 흑인강도를 만나 저항하다 총을 맞는다. 근처 식당에 있던 마리아는 총성을 듣고 달려와 사망한 성식을 붙들고 오열하는데..

After getting conned, So-Yeong's (Jang Jin-Yeong) family starts their difficult life in America with help from Mz. Song. So-Yeong and Moon-Yeong (Yoo Seon) begin using the American names 'Maria' and 'Eva' at school. Meanwhile, Harry (Song Il-Guk) and Karen (Choi Ja-Hye) who are adopted by their aunt suffer under the treatment of the aunt's American husband. Karen calls out to dad in her sleep, and Harry covers her mouth, in fear that the aunt's husband might hear her. The aunt's husband is drunk and tries to molest Karen, and Harry shoots a gunshot and flees. Seong-Shik (Seong Ji-Ru) who is hired by the bus company meets robbers and gets shot while resisting them. Maria (So-Yeong) who is nearby at a restaurant hears the gunshot and runs toward Seong-Shik who is dead, and cries out in sorrow.
