oh my god. I think I cried in every episode. It is a real tear jerker, i think what makes it most sad is that in each episode it gets worst but her relationship with Ryo gets closer and I know that she won't live and its like she's losing her life while starting a love at the same time. It's very tragic in my opinion. So far I am on episode 7. I also feel bad for her family, because they are taking it very hard. poor aya.

OMG! This was the best Japanese drama I've ever watched! I've never cried that much while watching anything and boy did this series made me cry. I think I almost cried in every epi. lol! Erika was pretty + Ryo was hot... hehe

THIS WAS MY FIRST JDRAMA! lol , this is like the saddest drama ive seen so far ! lol, in the last ep, i started crying and my dad was telling me to stop crying cos it would make me even more depressed then i am. im not depressed. Um, after starting to watch this drama it made me remember why I stopped watching anime. The female main characters. They are usually usually so perfect, pretty, sweet...nice to everyone. It's quite annoying. This is the same thing. Another thing is that this has no plot. But *shrug*. Ryo's hot and there's only 11 episodes. I'm going to finish the episodes I have left and then if there's a Jdrama that really sounds good I'll watch it too. Overall I've just slowly become very disenchanted with kdramas and jdramas in general.

^ I disagree with what you said about this drama having no plot. True, the drama might seem like it's just one of those slice-of-life dramas, going around everyday life stuff, but 1 Litre does have specific plot and theme. It's about Aya and her life affected with the illness. And what's wrong with Aya being a sweet and nice girl??? She was just living her best, knowing quite well that her time was running out. To me, it was truly admirable.

I think it's VERY admirable, and the whole thing is a nice tribute and sentiment, but it's just a bit boring so far. And it hasn't quite tugged at the heart strings like I thought it would. Probably because I can't relate to the main character, and Ryo is a little too much of a caricature. Does it pick up after episode 4?

the actress who plays aya is sooo pretty...she reminds me of Fukada t..?? from "friends" - except she's the younger version. in "friends" she won the heart of won bin

this drama is good and its heart-wrenching..me on chapter 2. the mum does have extreme courage to be the 1st to know about the disease and to hide it from her family..esp her husband

Yes, it does pick up b/c her disease begins to progress at a faster rate. If you are expecting a love story b/w Ryo and her, it's not going to be that much b/c the drama is about her disease and how she deals with it. But the overall drama is very heartwarming. I think you should continue to watch it. You wont regret it.

yup, this is sooo NOT a typical love story. the definition of love goes far beyond the normal boy-girl love. but the here and there interaction between ryo and aya is very heartwarming. and yes, i do agree with some that this story can be rather annoying because the main character is so damn nice and sweet bla bla bla but there's nothing wrong with that. If anything, maybe because it makes me jealous coz i wish i could be just that nice and admirable. Personally, I do get annoyed when i watched in dramas such nice, sweet, and kindhearted girl coz it seems unreal but I've known several of them in real life. in fact, four are my good friends for five years now. and surprisingly, i don't find them annoying at all, but instead it makes me feel alright about myself . it's like them being nice persons make up for my not-so-nice being. hahaha. if that ever makes sense. lol. I guess I'm only annoyed if I watched such characters on dramas because i know they are acting. who knows how they are like in real life. But when I myself are close to those kind of people, i feel so blessed.

I watched this awhile back and cryed until my eyes were bloodshot red T__T.I watched alot of kdramas that made me sad,but 1 Litre of Tears taught me about life experiences/how to live life to it's fullest (Which I'm Not Doing).I don't think I'm ever going watch 1 litre of tears again because I don't want to cry the way I did back then =(.I think watching the whole series Once is more then enough for me 0_0.

i must say.. ALL actors/actresses in the show are freaking GOOD. after watching quite a number of tear jerkers, it's definitely one of the BEST i've come across.

it's realistically touching. this is why i love it so much. other touching dramas are in their own fairy land that can hardly touch my heart deeply.

It is only in Japanese. You will be able to buy them from Japanese bookstores as for DVD. Japanese DVD does not come with English subs and it is very expensive which if I am not wrong, a set cost around USD$100.

the love story between ryo and aya...itz not just a normal relationship...i think they went beyond and that is what i really call love...

If you read her real diary, she actually developed before she went to highschool, if I read it correctly. They were already considering for her to go to a private highschool when applying...

I've had tried to hook my friend with this drama. But she said its too sad and she wanted sth more funny. Of course, she refused watching it.

She surely has bad taste, I swear ^__^

I haven't posted here for ages (syntax error) but I just quickly want to go back to that time warp at the end of the last episode. I said this a few pages back... I know many won't want to accept that the guy with the lil' kid and wife walking up the field could be Haruto but I still think that it is. Many said that it's unrealistic for Haruto to have a family a year after Aya died but I do not think it is a year. But I should go back and re-watch if there is some time that elapsed.

I think it must be a few years ahead, 5 as someone said. What's unrealistic is that if it was a year after Aya's death, how come both her parents have been made to look much older with gray hair and all? It must be a few years ahead.

2 of my friends liked it and 1 found it boring =P but the one that didn't like it didn't even give it a chance, she said she got bored about 5min into the 1st episode @.@

oh gosh...tears started flooding for me around chapter 3..when she made the discovery herself about the illness.
