I don't think I cried too much in this drama because I was already able to predict the end result; however, I couldn't sleep that night though haha. My heart was the one, infact, crying.

I finished this series last night and really did love it.

It's my first Japanese drama ever, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's really wonderful. I think the element of the family bond was the most important.

Also, I am now a huge Ryo fan. I loved him in this.

I just finished the drama tonight!
I cried so much, it's so sad.
Though, I must admit I wish Aya could have married Haruto, since they both seem to love each other and Haruto was so sincere with his
feelings for her and never left her side.

Hmm, going back a few pages ago, when I first saw the graveyard and all the people
walking towards it, I thought that was Haruto with the kid and wife, but then, I don't
think writers would do that since they showed the last scene between Aya and Haruto
in the basketball court, smiling at each other.

So confusing. Lol.
But I have a question, this was based on the diary of a girl named Aya right?
But the drama, it wasn't completely true?
The book like inspired the drama?

Yes and no lol. Well, there's the choir song, K - Only Human, and Kona Yuki...Those are the only songs that have lyrics, but the soundtrack composes of the background songs in the series.

I JUST finished the drama. I have to say, the ending wasn't really sad because you kind of know what's going to happen anyways. But in between the drama? I CRIED SO MUCH. More than I cried for any other drama. I was getting headaches from crying so much. I love how the drama didn't focus that much on the love between Aya and Haruto and yet it was still so emotional.

At first I expected something about some sick girl and a lot of her crying and being depressed and whatnot [like typical Kdrama] but it showed so much of her strength and courage and that's what made it sad. It was pity for her having the disease but rather feeling emotional because of her strength when she has no hope left. This drama had the biggest impact on me and I don't think I'll ever forget it.

Not to mention Nishikido Ryo is HOTTTT! And the doctor is hot too. And he's really kind in the drama. =]

The one thing I didn't like about the drama when the timing. Like when she was in the disability school, I was like O_O she spent 2 years there?! Because they put in like 1-2 episode on it? I was really confused with how much time had gone by. And when Aya gave Haruto the letter then BOOM! It's 1 year later. I didn't like that. And I hated how quickly her disease progressed. Made me really really sad.


And one more thing. I'm glad the drama didn't make us watch all her suffering and everything near her death because I hate to see those things. But I also have no idea what happened in that five year span at the end. Did Haruto and her spend time together? You know, Haruto and Aya were so in love but they never really did anything but talk. There was never even any physical contact!?!? That's amazing. Nice touch.

OKAYYYYY enough rambling but I had a lot to say about this drama. To wrap it up. Greatest jdrama EVER. and Nishikido Ryo is damn hot.

Yes, it's true that the real Aya never got to experience love. The mother of the real Aya requested the film crew to add the imaginative Haruto in, so this drama is like part true part fiction.

The ending, imo, is alright the way it ended, I don't think of it as a rushed ending at all. Someone had said this earlier, but I think it's approriate to say it again. There was a period in which Aya could not hold a pen to write in her diary again, it was like 3 or more years before her death. So, I guess, to be true to the book, they decided to pass forward that time period that Aya was just too weak and vulnerable to even do something on her own, thus gives the viewers feeling a little "rushed". For the most part of the drama, you get to see Aya's life in highschool and the disability school, you get to see her going through hardship but still holding her head high... I think those were the times that Aya's mom would love to see being portrayed again.

there's 11 episodes. Apparently the doctor here..is the REAL doctor to the real aya..he made a guest appearance on the show. Not the professor one but the professor's student..dr munizo or something.

this is a drama not to miss out on...i cried like a baby...it was so touching and good...it was killing me to hid my tears inside of me so i just let it all out and they just came....i believe this drama can relate to everyone and especially to the peeps out there who is not appreicaiting life now...i was thinking to myself what if this drama was a 20 esp. drama like those k-drama...man i think i will be crying my eyes out...ryo and erika did a good job with their roles...erika played ayo so convincing that it touched my heart deeply...it's so sad how she had to live with that illness for i think 5 years...huh this movie is just sad and good...

Yeah, I just finished watchin' this last week. At first I was hesitant because I'm not too fond of sad dramas, but when I found out it was based on her real diary, I had to check it out. I love how at the ending of every episode, they posted bits from her diary. Her words are inspiring and heartfelting at the same time. She's such a good person and after watching it, I realized how much of impact her character had on me. Erika and Ryo did a wonderful job too. Such a great drama.
