i just finished watching this drama. wat a touching drama..ep 9 & 10 nearly killed me :~. This drama seems so true and near to us..unlike sad dramas tat focuses 100% on love. It's abt life and living,nice nice drama. I'm listening to k-only human while im typing..sobz..

^ In my opinion it's worth it. I'd buy it off yesasia [even though it's $200!!!] if it had English subs, but sadly it doesn't so I bought the burned copy off Ebay. =( I loved this drama very much -- one of my favorites. You should definitely watch it. It's not a drama anyone should miss out on.

I finally finished watching it... my eyes are SO RED. I couldn't stop watching it. I watched 8 episodes in a row! OMG! This is seriously the best drama i've ever seen.

I watched it on Monday, and cried in almost every single episode. My eyes were swollen when I woke up the next morning. It really moved me like no other sad series ever has! Seriously, dramas like Endless Love and MISA.. they were nothing compared to this. I'm usually very impatient with sad, slow dramas, but this went at a pretty good pace and didn't drag on forever.

Erika Sawajiri is an awesome actress. She's so cute as well, even though that little bung tooth of hers kinda ruins her smile. lol

this drama is one of the best dramas i've ever watched!

Japanese dramas don't usually come with English subtitles, which is a pity because I seriously want to own a boxset of this, considering how much I love the drama as a whole. Anyone from Singapore can tell me if the VCD you buy there has English subs, and is it in good quality or just watchable??

I just finish watching this drama today....OMG I can't stop crying,i cry in each episode....this drama is the best drama that i ever watch this year....i really really NOT regret buying the dvd....the story is really sad & touching.... I watch this drama the whole night until next morning ...i just can't stop watching this drama, I love this drama soooo much....well for me....this drama is the best japanese drama in 2006....luv it so much.... onto chapter 6..so nearly there to the end..! i skipped to see the finale (last 5 mins of chapter 11)..and boy, the parents aged so badly over the last 5 years. In the documentary/ behind the scenes..there wasnt much focus on aya's dad..only her mum.
of course i will be watching chapters 7,8,9,10 and 11 properly

chapter 6 was sooo heart wrenching..the point where aya was made fun off by her brothers' football team.
PLus the point where she was running for the bus after school, the driver waited for her..showed the bus pass etc..and the looks she got from the other passengers

Its sad...makes you think more about life though

chapter 8..yes we all know this drama is all so heart-wrenching.. and chapter 8 did exactly that to me.
aya decided to go to the special needs school after all. The farewell speech she gave at the college/school was very touching .. her two friends cried cos of the speech etc.
Wot was more moving is how the class rushed out to say their goodbyes and sing that song

the fond memories of her college days there

if i was aya in that situation..i definitely wont be strong as her (living with that illness)

finished the series at last and boy - i have shed more than one litre of tears alone in this drama - from chapter 8 onwards. I shed tears in earlier episodes but not as much then. Then as from chapter 8 - i really turned on my waterworks. Overall i give this a 10/10 - it was tortorous to watch in a way not only because the disease struck a 15year old but the fact of what the disease does to oneself - speech defect, walking inability, bowel problem (wetting the floor as seen in chapter 8). Mum was a brave person to put on a brave face as soon as she spotted aya wetting the floor. BUt deep inside, she knew her condition was worsening.
11 chapters to this drama is sufficient in fact - any more and i wouldnt of been able to handle yet -seeing how the condition worsens etc. THe screen parents did a very good job - i didnt expect the dad to be that emotional as normally the bonding is stronger between mother and daughter.
The doctor who treated her was very emotional towards the end. PLus very brave to star in the tv adaption once again. The girl who aya befriended @ the special needs school - what happened to her?? Was that added in for the tv series adapation?

its a true shame the love element wasnt real. Overall very well written. CErtainly a fave j-drama of mine in recent years . I made the switch to korean dramas but the synopsis of the storyline to this drama caught my attention so I decided to give it a go

i was also shocked to hear how aya wanted her organs to be donated for medical research in helping patients with similar illness. Aya's parents hearing that from the doctor who treated her must of been torturous. BY the way, in the documentary - there wasnt much to be seen / heard of from aya's dad.
it also hit me the moment when aya went home and saw her specially adapted bedroom and going home for christmas. Yet her feelings towards her family were written in her diary yet read by her mum
