Two DVD's that came in one of those THIN plastic CD covers & that's it. If you're gonna buy it, then buy the Chinese versions like t3n5h1_chu_k015h173. At least it'll have pictures.

I recently finished watching this drama. Honestly I can’t describe in words how good and amazing this drama is. All the casts were awesome actors, especially the main character.


This is truthfully the best tearjerker and drama I’ve ever watched. This is currently my FAVORITE drama (probably will be for awhile). Also the only tear jerker that actually jerked the tears out of eyes like crazy. I’ve never cried this much watching a drama…wait…let me rephrase that. This is the FIRST drama that had made me cry.


Now the first thing I hear after I said the word ‘tearjerker’ is “Pshh..must be another draggy boring-as-heck drama with the clichéd disease plot”


Yes that was exactly what I thought, but I was wrong.


This drama is not draggy and boring at all. Yes there were A LOT of sad scenes but you’ll find yourself smiling at some point. The fact that this drama was based on a REAL life story/diary of Aya makes the story even more touching and sad. (im going off to read her real diary after I finish writing this)

As weird as it sounds, this drama really taught me the value of life. I noticed how lucky I am to be able to run, talk, eat, walk and do whatever im able to do, freely. Why hold a knife upon your flesh when every second there’s someone fighting to live.


ANYWAYSSS...The casts were extreeeeemly good, they even looked good HAHA… She and her mom probably cried over 15 times in the movie, happy and sad. I think everyone was perfect for their parts. I especially loved how the story isn’t just based on the ‘love’ between her and Asou , its more like a ‘life’ story and I think that’s what makes the story even better and realistic (well it IS real but yeah..) Also I think girl who played her younger sister is really pretty and of course so was the main character that played Aya. Oh and Ryo and the doctor was hot HAHA XD

i just finished the series yesterday, and i was doing a pretty good job not crying but omg-- the last two episodes? i like couldn't stop crying. it was just all so... i don't know. i really enjoyed the series, though, even if it's a little depressing, it helps me realize that i'm lucky with all the things i have now and that i shouldn't worry about the past anymore; just strive to live for the present.

such a good drama with a great lesson. it was nice too that they focused more on aya's life and her family more than haruto (even though ryo was one of the main reasons i started watching >_>). amazing drama, probably the best i've watched so far.

I finished this series ages ago... it was really good.... so sad and touching... especially when you know it's a true story... although i think the relationship between ryo and erika is something that the director/producers slipped in... because a lot of viewers like love stories... and their love story is so pure and so sad... made me cry when she wrote the love letter to him...
I highly recommend this series to everyone... it's so meaningful... and especially if you love tear jeckers....

Justalilodreamer: AMEN! When this guy I know recommended this drama to me, telling me what a tearjerker it was, I was sooo skeptical about its ability to actually make me CRY. I mean, other dramas have had me shedding a few tears here and there.. but 1 Litre of Tears, WOW.. in almost EVERY episode.. they were just streaming down my face.

This is definitely my fave drama. Not sure about fave series though - Full House is stiff competition.

I finished it today!!! This was such a touching drama... It made me appreciate a lot of things about just not being sick and being to do simple things such as talking, walking, eating, and even typing this message.

I think the actors/actresses were extremely good. Sawajiri Erika: it's different to see her with ... "non-revealing" clothes, haha. Maybe it's just me, but I've been used to seeing her model the bikinis, etc. and so this image was really different. But she pulled the role off with flying colors. It's really hard to act sick when you're really healthy, so amen to her.

Nishikido Ryo was really good as Asou-kun as well. And he can sing!! That part in episode 8 was heartbreaking... . When he was crying, it all seemed so real, haha. I mean, Erika's crying was real as well, but I don't know. Ryo's crying was so sad, haha.

And the actors/actresses that played her family, WOW. Especially her mom... :]. It came to the point where the actors seemed like they weren't acting anymore.

But I'm a little confused, haha, and I think this question's probably come up before: Was that Asou-kun that was walking up the way to Aya's grave at the end with the wife and kid? It looked like him, but then they showed that part with her playing basketball, and him watching and smiling at her (that smile was cute, btw. :]). So I'm not sure, haha. And if I'm not mistaken, that part with her playing basketball wasn't a flashback, was it? Because if it was, I don't remember it... I only remember the part she was trying to play and she kept missing, and he said, "you suck."

If you mean the 1 litre of tears movie, the cast are different from the drama. They do have promotional flyers for the movie as I have seen somewhere before I went to Japan for holiday.

I actually meant the One Litre of Tears drama, with Sawajiri Erika and Nishikido Ryo as the leads. I'm sorry about the confusion up there, hehe. I meant to say 'drama' instead of 'movie.' What I meant about the promo pics was like how Koreans have like certain "released" photos of the scenes within the drama (i.e., the images of Goong that I used in my sigs/avatars).

I forgot that there was a movie for this!! I think I'd like to check it out. Just wondering, have you seen it?

I JUST finished this drama yesterday. I admit, I kept my distance since I really don't like the weepy kinds of dramas, but really this was VERY VERY well done. People weren't just crying for no reason. It was just...yeah

I am sure there is. I remembered that when i visited few months ago, there some videos that they have upload and people can view when each character is asked how they deal with the characters that they are given. I have seen in one of the bookstore where there is a poster of the cover of the book and the characters that in the drama.

By the time i was done i had a mountain of tissues and puffy eyes.
It was very touching. I really liked the acting. Erika Sawajiri really made it seem like she had the disease.

and side note: Asou and Aya's theme (Konayuki) is really really good. I loved it everytime it came on.

i finished 1 litre of tears awhile back. IT WAS SOO SAD. i cried in every episode at least once.. my eyes were so swollen after. the last episode wasn't as depressing though.. since you knew it was coming and they didn't show any of ayas sufferings at the last stage.. but it makes me wonder.. so whats asoukun doing now? did he graduate from med school? even though he's still a fictional character.. The drama was really good and inspiring at the same time, because sometime when we were faced with a little bit of problem, we just wanted to runaway from them or just hide from the world... but Aya is different, she really faced everything with optimism. That is something that I don't see everyday.

And the guy (I forgot his name ) and that sensei are really HOT! ARGH!
