Kim Hyun Joong’s Official Character "U:ZOOSIN" Becomes Top Selling Merchandise

Kim Hyun Joong’s official character, “U:ZOOSIN,” has been all the craze in Asia lately, selling over 50,000 items in a little over a month so far. According to local reports, sales of merchandise with this alien-looking character, which was first hand-drawn by Kim Hyun Joong himself on his official website, has exceeded 2 billion won (approximately $2 million USD) recently.  

After first being introduced at Kim Hyun Joong’s showcase on June 7^th, the character’s merchandise is currently being sold in over 10 countries, including Japan, Taiwan, China, and Singapore. The price ranges from $20~$40 USD, while the package with Kim Hyun Joong’s solo album “Break Down” goes for nearly $80 USD.

“We haven’t calculated the exact sales revenue yet. But we’re continuing to see orders come in from Korea and abroad,” said Kim Hyun Joong’s agency, Key East. The The actual manufacturing is done by Key East, who’s selling products such as photo books, t-shirts, accessories, posters, and key holders, among many others, based on this character designed by Kim Hyun Joong.

Kim Hyun Joong is currently busy promoting his second single, “Kiss Kiss,” from his first solo album, “Break Down.” The name of the character, “U:ZOOSIN,” translates to “god of galaxy” in Korean.
