SNSD to Release Japanese Repackage Album of "Girls Generation"
SNSD aims to become the first K-Pop idol group to surpass the one million album sales mark in Japan this year with the release of their repackaged “Girls Generation” album on December 28. Currently, SNSD has sold about 850,000 copies of their first Japanese regular album, but the new repackage album is expected to easily surpass 150,000 copies in sales.
“The ‘Girls Generation’ album released in June has sold over 850,000 copies so far. If you add the sales of this repackage album, it’s definitely going to sell over a million copies, which is the first time for any K-Pop artist this year. No Japanese artist has sold over a million albums this year either. Therefore, SNSD would be writing history with this album,” Japan’s Sankei Sports reported.
This repackage album will be released in three different versions. It comes with their new track, “Time Machine,” and the Japanese version of the original title track, “The Boys,” as well as three remix songs from their Korean album. Depending on the album version, it will come with a photo book or DVD.
Meanwhile, SNSD will continue with their “Mr. Taxi” promotions in Korea. They are also scheduled to attend NHK’s “62nd Kōhaku Uta Gassen!” on December 31 alongside Kara and DBSK.
