Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2011 - December Week 2
In a very tight battle, T-Ara‘s “Cry Cry” edged out two-week champion Wonder Girls‘ “Be My Baby” by just 7.5 points to become our new No. 1 song. It is T-Ara’s second No. 1 song this year with their previous hit being the highly successful “Roly Poly” from this summer. T-Ara joins IU and Secret as the only artists with multiple chart topping songs this year. Congratulations.
Still staying at No. 3 again is Noel‘s “I Miss You“. They are the only male group in the top five this week. This song has definitely become the R&B quartet’s biggest hit in their career. It has been in the top five for the last five weeks, picking up valuable points towards the year end countdown. Let see where this song ranks in the summary chart of 2011 which will be announced at the end of the month.
There are two new songs in the top 10 this week. Rookie girl group A Pink has their biggest hit to date, as “My My” moves up eight spots to No. 4. While many girl groups these days go for a sexy, fierce image, A Pink is the opposite as they opted for cute, innocent, girl-next-door type concept. There aren’t too many new artists debuting this year, will A Pink’s latest hit help them winning the best new artist award? Stay tuneed!
Korea’s national little sister IU has come back with her new song “You And I” and debuts at No. 6 this week. This is the title song from IU’s second album “Last Fantasy”. At age 18, IU is already one of the top female soloists in K-Pop music. Aside from singing, IU also made her acting and MCing debuted this year. “You And I” has the best potential to be our next No. 1 song and will certainly join the battle next week.
