Heo Joon Ho Helps INFINITE's L Polish His Acting During Intense Face-Off Scene In "Ruler: Master Of The Mask"
Although the situation is worsening for INFINITE’s L’s character in “Ruler: Master of the Mask,” his acting skills remain on point.
By June 15, the MBC drama (written by Park Hye Jin and Jung Hae Ri and directed by Noh Do Chul and Park Won Guk) had aired Episodes 23 and 24 and achieved 11.3 and 13.2 percent viewership ratings respectively. For the past six weeks, the show has also been ranked first in its time slot.
In stills from the drama, L and Heo Joon Ho face off against each other in a dark room, exchanging only glances, leaving viewers curious as to whether the two characters will achieve a mutual understanding or break out into open hostility.
The scene was filmed on June 13 in South Jeolla Province, where the two actors prepared for their scene by taking their proper places and practicing their back-and-forth dialogue. Since the two characters share a common desire for power, they worked together to elicit the right emotions for the shoot.
According to the production staff, the scene was filmed without any mistakes. Heo Joon Ho, despite being a veteran actor, treated L like a fond junior and gave him detailed advice, while L made sure to write down his tips on the script.
“Although L and Heo Joon Ho are at odds in the drama, they have a comfortable senior-junior relationship that goes beyond age,” the staff said. “They trust and follow each other and have a great sense of fellowship and chemistry. Please look forward to the exciting things that will happen as a result of their private meeting.”
Episodes 25 and 26 of “Ruler: Master of the Mask” will air on June 21 at 10 p.m. KST.
