
7+ American Artists To Add To Your Playlist, As Suggested From K-Pop Idols
If you’re an avid listener of K-pop, American music is probably something that’s not on your radar. At least not in comparison to the former. There might be times when you definitely feel the urge to pull out your favorite American bops, but usually K-pop is your go-to. However, when your bias happens to mention one of their current American jams or even covers one, doesn’t it make you curious to see what track they’re referencing?
And let’s be real, as artists themselves, K-pop idols have good taste when it comes to music. So here are seven suggestions for whenever you feel the sudden urge to listen to American music, as suggested by your favorite K-pop idols below!
1. iKON’s B.I – Lauv
If you ever peruse through the YouTube comments for Lauv’s track “I Like Me Better,” you’ll find a lot of happy iKONICs mentioning how iKON’s B.I recommended this song to his fans. And it’s a good thing he did, because this track is a bop, just like many of iKON’s songs.
2. f(x)’s Amber – Superfruit
One very special day on July 1, f(x)’s Amber decided to connect with fans and respond to their questions on Twitter, causing many to even question if it was real! When one fan asked her what her favorite current tune was, she replied by mentioning Superfruit’s “Bad 4 Us.”
3. BLACKPINK’s Jennie – Tinashe
During a Naver V Live chat session, BLACKPINK’s Jennie once mentioned that her favorite song by Tinashe at the moment was “2 On.” Tinashe is clearly well-liked by many K-pop idols such as GOT7’s Yugyeom and BTS’s J-Hope, with the latter even getting a brief mention from her.
4. BTS’s Jungkook – Tori Kelly
It’s no secret that BTS’s Jungkook enjoys a lot of songs by Tori Kelly. He’s covered her music before; just check out his fantastic cover of her song “Paper Hearts.” Jungkook even mentioned one of her tracks, “Dear No One,” once during an interview with Soompi!

5. SEVENTEEN’s Joshua – Gabe Bondoc
