10 Best Flower Boy Concept K-Dramas That You Should Watch

The term “flower boy” is something that’s been around Korean entertainment culture for a very long time. Flower boys can be defined as boys who have feminine features, are pretty, have aegyo, are well-groomed, but can also be manly! There is an endless list of K-dramas with “flower boy concepts,” but here are just 10 of our favorites.

1. “Boys Over Flowers

This is probably the original K-drama when it comes to flower boy concepts. This internationally popular K-drama starred Lee Min Ho as Gu Jun Pyo and three other flower boys who were called the F4. If you’re looking for a flowery K-drama with some flowery eye candy, then this drama is perfect for you. Despite the cheesiness factor, it’s a classic; and it’s super romantic seeing the characters fall in love!

2. “Flower Boy Next Door

I loved the simplicity of this drama, and it has your staple flower boy actor: Yoon Shi Yoon. He is pretty much the epitome of flower boys. His character, Enrique Kim, has boatloads of aegyo and is SO lovable. It’s adorable seeing his character try and bring Ko Dok Mi (Park Shin Hye) out of her shell. It’s a light-hearted drama, and you can’t complain about watching Yoon Si Yoon for 16 episodes!

3. “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo”

Probably one of the more intense and serious flower boy concept K-dramas on this list, but one that cannot be missed. This powerhouse of a cast, which includes the likes of Lee Joon Gi, Kang Ha Neul, Nam Joo Hyuk, Ji Soo, Baekhyun, Hong Jong Hyun, and more, is full of flower boys who are competing for the throne. You’ll be surprised to see how these pretty faces can become so savage! Despite the dramatic elements, it’s fun to see which of these flower boys will capture your heart by the end of the series.

4. “Rooftop Prince

This classic drama that juxtaposes the historical world and the modern world stars several flower boys who you might be familiar with: Park Yoochun, Choi Woo Sik, and Jung Suk Won. You’ll have a good laugh seeing them try to adjust to the modern world while getting into all kinds of trouble. Apart from the flower boys, the script is so unique and refreshing that you are bound to enjoy it.

5. “Shut Up! Flower Boy Band”

This one just made the cut. I didn’t especially like the script of the drama, but I did really, really, really enjoy the cast – especially Lee Min Ki! So you can understand my disappointment when he only appeared for the first couple episodes. The actors are all considered flower boys, but their characters in the script are pretty rough and rugged. This contrast made for an emotional, yet intriguing series.

6. “Sungkyunkwan Scandal

Sungkyunkwan Scandal” stars Song Joong Ki, Park Yoochun, and Yoo Ah In – all flower boys in their own beautiful ways! In this K-drama, these scholarly flower boys find themselves romantically entwined with Kim Yun Hee (Park Min Young), as she dresses like a boy to help support her family. You won’t be able to keep your eyes off the screen, especially as Song Joong Ki plays Gu Yong Ha – he’s so irresistible in this role!

7. “Hwarang

And yet another historical drama for this list. “Hwarang” was a more recent drama, and it starred some really irresistible flower boys, which included Park Hyung Sik, BTS’s V, SHINee’s Choi Minho, Park Seo Joon, Do Ji Han, and many more. This drama was not only filled with flower boys, but the cinematography as well as the setting was all really pretty and flowery. Their costumes were pastel colored, which added to the whole feel of the drama. Definitely one that can’t be missed if you are a sucker for some serious eye-candy!

8. “To the Beautiful You

It’s been awhile since this drama has come out, but it’s definitely a classic gender-bender K-drama with the flower boy concept. This drama stars SHINee’s Choi Minho, Lee Hyun Woo, and Kang Ha Neul, who are all staying at a school together along with Sulli‘s character, Gu Jae Hee. The story is adorable and sweet, and there’s a lot to be jealous about when it comes to Gu Jae Hee as she is caught in a love triangle between the flower boys.

9. “You’re Beautiful

What’s a flower boy concept K-drama list without mentioning a Jang Geun Suk drama?! Probably considered one of the original flower boys, Jang Geun Suk has starred in many hit flower boy K-dramas, but this one will always be a classic. Park Shin Hye stars as Go Mi Nyu, a member of a popular boy band, who is trying to cover up for her twin brother. This drama also stars Jung Yong Hwa and Lee Hong Ki.

10. “Coffee Prince

Gong Yoo and his team of flower boy baristas star in this classic K-drama that surrounds the love stories that go on within a coffee shop. All of the baristas at this very special coffee shop are boys and good looking; the supporting cast includes Kim Dong Wook, Kim Jae Wook, and Lee Sun Gyun, but I probably already had you at Gong Yoo.
