MXM’s Lim Young Min Explains Why He Cried So Hard During "Produce 101 Season 2" Finale
Lim Young Min of Brand New Music’s new duo MXM has shared the story behind his tears during the finale of “Produce 101 Season 2.”
Four of Brand New Music’s trainees competed on “Produce 101 Season 2.” Lim Young Min made it into the top 20, but didn’t secure a spot in Wanna One because he came in No. 15 when voting results were announced during the live finale.
As the credits rolled during the final moments of the show, Lim Young Min was shown in tears as he was comforted by other trainees. He explained what it was that had made him cry so hard in an interview on July 27.
“I didn’t even imagine that I would be caught on camera like that,” he said. “When it was over, a lot of the trainees were talking, and Kim Tae Min was there.”
“He had to leave the show because he was sick, so I hadn’t been able to be in touch with him much,” Lim Young Min continued. “He came up to me that day and said, ‘You had a hard time, right?’. I burst into tears when he said that.”
“I thought that because there were so many trainees there, it wouldn’t be seen,” he admitted. “I don’t usually cry much, but when the tears started, I let it all out. Someone said to me afterwards, ‘You looked pretty when you cried.’”
Lim Young Min made his debut on July 27 with fellow Brand New Music trainee Kim Dong Hyun as the unit duo MXM, when they released their first single “Good Day.”
