Yang Dong Geun Tears Up About A Frightening Experience With His Daughter Joy

On SBS’s “Law of the Jungle,” Yang Dong Geun expressed gratitude for his young daughter Joy, who recently overcame a life or death situation.

On August 11, cast members Kim Byung Man, Jo Jung Suk, and Yang Dong Geun embarked on a journey to explore an island.

While Yang Dong Geun attempted to light a fire with bamboo sticks, Kim Byung Man told Yang Dong Geun, “Handle it like you would a child,” and complimented, “Joy’s father is doing great.”

To Kim Byung Man’s comment, Yang Dong Geun suddenly burst into tears and recounted a recent incident that happened to Joy.

He explained, “In April, Joy suddenly choked. She stopped breathing. My wife was crying so much that I reminded to myself to stay alert. I had no time to cry.”

He added, “The small spark of fire slowly coming back to life reminded me of my daughter.

Yang Dong Geun then talked about feeling guilty after the situation had passed. He revealed, “I asked myself why I hadn’t shed a single tear at the time. I questioned if I was qualified to be a father at all. But it hit me today.”

To great relief, Joy has since recovered. “Joy is thankfully very healthy now,” said Yang Dong Geun.
