SHINee's Taemin And EXO's Kai Show Off Close Friendship

SHINee’s Taemin and EXO’s Kai will be appearing on the upcoming episode of KBS2’s “Happy Together.” The shoot was the first time that Kai has participated in a variety show alone, without his fellow EXO members. However, also participating in the show was SHINee’s Taemin. The two are known for their similar looking appearance as well as being good friends, which heightened anticipation towards their chemistry.

The two poked fun at each other, surprising those on set. Kai shared about a time when he was a trainee and Taemin acted tough. Kai started off by stating, “I was born earlier in the year, and so I went to school a year earlier. I was the same grade as Taemin so I decided to be friends but he told me to call him ‘hyung,'” to which the flustered Taemin tried to explain, “At that time, these things were decided by what year you were born.” He then said ruefully, “In the end, he ended up just using informal speech to me,” which made everyone laugh.

Although the two are known for their sexy, charismatic dances and stage presence, in real life the two are actually quite funny, as they’ve earned the nickname “magic hands,” for their ability to lose almost anything. Taemin even revealed, “I didn’t want to show that I lost my phone, so I’ve even put in my earphones and put the jack in my pocket to pretend like I did have my phone,” to which Kai appeared to have experienced the same situation multiple times, making the set erupt in laughter.

KBS2’s “Happy Together 3” will be hosting their summer vacation “Star Golden Bell” special on August 24, with Kim Yeon Ja, Park Jun Gyu, Choi Hyun Woo, Lee Hee Jin, Jung Da Hye, Lee Elijah, Sunmi, Lizzy, SHINee’s Taemin, EXO’s Kai, Snuper’s Woosung, GFREIND’s Yerin, Cosmic Girls’ Dayoung, gugudan’s Mina, and Samuel.
