KBS's Idol Rebooting Show "The Unit” Reveals Premiere Date And More
KBS has shared new information about its upcoming idol audition program “Idol Rebooting Project The Unit” (hereafter referred to as “The Unit”).
It has been announced that the show will be airing its first episode on October 28, and there will be a total of 14 episodes.
It was also reported that since applications opened on August 2, there have been more than 500 individuals applying for a spot in the show.
“The Unit” has a special meaning embedded in its name. Each letter in the word “unit” stands for a letter in the phrase, “A combination (T or +) you (U) and (N) I (I) create.”
The program is aiming to give already debuted idols a fair chance to demonstrate their talents that they may not have been able to showcase before. The show will create male and female unit groups, with 10 members each.
The producing director of the show Park Ji Young commented, “We will film with the goal to ‘create the best team possible.’ I heard the word ‘last’ a lot when I interviewed the participants. I feel touched, and also a sense of responsibility when I see the desperate and passionate will to achieve their dream of becoming a successful idol.”
It has been announced that idols who will be taking part in “The Unit” include members of Boys Republic, BIGSTAR, Brave Girls, 1NB, former T-ara member Areum, and Dal Shabet’s Subin. Members of LABOUM and members of IMFACT are currently in talks about competing on the show, while Boyfriend is reportedly also planning to take part.
