'Idol School' Student Explains Why She Was Happy To Be Eliminated

Former “Idol School” student Jessica Lee (also known by her Korean name Lee Seul) has opened up about her experience on the show.

In the English-language video, she said in the beginning, “I am extremely happy that I got eliminated.”

Jessica Lee explained that she was intrigued by the school concept that was advertised by the show initially. She hoped “Idol School” would help her determine if being a K-pop idol was right for her, after having had experience in Korea as a trainee and performer.

“I hated myself for getting tempted to try it again,” she said. “But I just thought of it as my last try. However, unfortunately, I got the answer to that question on the first day!”

She continued, “I was like, ‘Okay, this is not for me. I regret coming here. Why did I come here? Why am I here between those amazing, pretty, and talented people?’”

Jessica Lee said she felt down at the beginning, and that she can’t forget the moment when she walked into the classroom on the first day. “I felt like I was in a flower garden, they were all so pretty,” she said. “I just didn’t really see the possibility for me, I truly got to look at myself as a K-pop idol objectively in there.”

She went on to explain that she struggled with dancing, singing, looking cute, and dieting during “Idol School.”

“I’m really thankful to ‘Idol School’ for even letting me join that program because I really got the answer to my question,” she said. She added with a laugh, “I’m done with K-pop now. I’m not going to do it again.”

Jessica Lee also talked about getting close to the other “Idol School” students and said she’s glad she got to meet the show’s teachers.
