Watch: Sunmi Surprises A Fan Selling Her Old CDs

Sometimes, fans sell their favorite artists’ goods or CDs. Maybe the fan stopped stanning them, or really need the cash. Whatever the reason may be, the last thing a fan would expect when showing up to the meeting place is for a buyer to be your favorite artist.

On a website for buying or trading used items, a fan posted that he was selling Sunmi’s “Why So Lonely” album for 10,000 won (approximately $9). Sunmi, curious about the reasoning behind a fan selling her CDs, decided to show up directly to the agreed location to confront her fan.

Ahead of the meet-up, the fan told the production staff member pretending to be the buyer that he had been a fan of Sunmi since Wonder Girls’ “Tell Me”-era, and had actually purchased 30 albums to attend Sunmi’s fan meeting. Later, Sunmi showed up pretending to be someone handing out flyers to promote the “Gashina” album. When the fan finally realized it was Sunmi, he was completely shocked.

Sunmi immediately recognized the fan and said, “I know you! I’ve seen you at many fan meetings and live broadcasts!” The fan admitted that he was selling the extra albums to save money to travel. Still nervous, the fan said, “My hand is shaking,” to which Sunmi sweetly replied, “Then, I’ll hold your hand,” and held the fan’s hand while giving him a hug. In the end, the fan passed out the “Gashina” flyers to passersby, got Sunmi’s autograph, and a selfie with her. Sunmi said, “Thank you for being my fan for 10 years.”
