BTS Becomes First Korean Artist To Enter Spotify's Global Top 50 Chart
BTS is now the first Korean artist to appear on Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart!
According to Spotify on September 19 (GMT), BTS’s new song “DNA” has entered the streaming service’s Global Top 50 chart at No. 50.
The Global Top 50 chart reflects the daily ranking of songs on Spotify that have been released from all over the world, and this is the first time a Korean artist has entered the chart.
“DNA” is the title track to BTS’s new mini album “Love Yourself: Her,” which was released on September 18 at 6 p.m. KST.
The mini album ranked at No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 73 regions, which is the highest number ever for a Korean artist, while “DNA” grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Top Songs charts on iTunes in 29 regions. The mini album also topped daily albums charts in Korea, while “DNA” took No. 1 on realtime charts. Meanwhile, the music video for “DNA” has broken YouTube records, including the most views in 24 hours for a K-pop group.
