Chae Soo Bin And Uhm Ki Joon Join Yoo Seung Ho's Upcoming MBC Drama
Chae Soo Bin and Uhm Ki Joon have been confirmed to star in upcoming MBC drama “I Am Not a Robot” (literal translation). Previously, Yoo Seung Ho was cast as the lead character in the drama as well.
The drama is set to air in the latter half of the year, and will be a 16-episode romantic comedy mini-series about a man who is unable to date as he is allergic to humans. He later meets and falls in love with a woman pretending to be a robot.
Yoo Seung Ho will be playing perfect from head to toe Kim Min Kyu, head of Korea’s biggest financial company, whose only weakness is his “human allergy.” Yoo Seung Ho has previously starred in various productions such as “Ruler: Master of the Mask” as well as “The Magician,” and is expected to show a new side of himself as he takes on his first romantic comedy role.
Chae Soo Bin will be taking on the role of Jo Ji Ah, a passionate young entrepreneur who possesses an extremely high EQ (emotional intelligence) and whose dream is to make things that people need. Her ex-boyfriend Baek Gyun, a robotic engineer, asks her to act as a robot part-time. Chae Soo Bin previously showed off her lovely, sweet side in “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People” and showed off her charms as the realest girlfriend in “Strongest Deliveryman” and is raising anticipation as she takes on robot acting.
Uhm Ki Joon is to play Jo Ji Ah’s ex-boyfriend Hong Baek Gyun, a world-renown genius robotic engineer. In the drama, he secretly creates the world’s most advanced AI android robot “Aji3.” He previously starred in musicals such as “Mata Hari,” “Rebecca,” and “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” and also left quite a memorable impression playing a dual role in “Defendant.” Many are looking forward to his transition from villainous acting to scientist.
“I Am Not A Robot” is to be directed by Jung Dae Yoon, who has also directed “She Was Pretty” and “W.” The drama will be written by Kim Sun Mi and Lee Suk Joon who also penned “Shine Or Go Crazy.”
