"20th Century Boy And Girl" Hints At Han Ye Seul And Kim Ji Suk's Blooming Romance In New Stills

New stills of MBC’s “20th Century Boy and Girl” hint the beginning of a romantic adventure.

The released pictures show encounters between Gong Ji Won (Kim Ji Suk) and Sa Jin Jin (Han Ye Seul) in different settings.

Gong Ji Won and Sa Jin Jin were each other’s first love in high school but were separated for a long time before running into one another recently as adults. Coincidentally, the two realize they’re living in the same apartment and keep on running into each other in parking lots, right in front of the building, and in neighboring convenience stores. Gong Ji Won makes bold moves at Sa Jin Jin, asking her out for dinners or movies. Sa Jin Jin, on the other hand, draws a firm line and doesn’t let her guard down.

In the stills, the couple is seen talking in a parking lot as well as in front of their apartment building. Gong Ji Won is smiling at Sa Jin Jin and surprises her by pulling up her hood in a couple of the stills. Han Ye Seul and Kim Ji Suk, who are the same age in real life, are reportedly putting in much effort to deliver the characters’ emotions wavering between friendship and love. They discuss the thoughts and intentions of Sa Jin Jin and Gong Ji Won in length, attempting to portray the couple more realistically.

The drama’s production company Huayi Brothers commented, “Because the two [characters] were best friends and were separated unexpectedly for a long time before reuniting, they will be awkward sometimes and bickering in other times.” They also asked the viewers to look forward to the upcoming romance between the sweet gentleman Gong Ji Won and Sa Jin Jin, a top celebrity who is inexperienced when it comes to relationships.

“20th Century Boy and Girl” is a tale about a group of friends in their 30s who are all successful but are lacking in the love department. The drama airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10:00 p.m. KST.
