Watch: JBJ, Jeong Sewoon, Samuel, MXM Have A Dance Battle For Kim Yong Guk's Heart On "Weekly Idol"
JBJ, Jeong Sewoon, Samuel, and MXM made an appearance on the October 25 episode of “Weekly Idol.”
During one segment, the boys had to appeal to JBJ’s Kim Yong Guk by dancing their way into his heart.
JBJ’s Noh Tae Hyun and Kim Dong Han showed a taste of what they were capable of dancing, which included a krump version of Apink‘s “Mr. Chu” and EXO and BTS hits at twice the speed. While everyone else is impressed, Kim Yong Guk didn’t seem fascinated at all. He commented, “[His dance] is too rushed.” The host Jung Hyung Don refuted, “Of course, because this was danced in twice the speed!” Kim Yong Guk replied, “Even so, he should dance calmly. He’s out.” His fellow member Kim Dong Han seemed to be knocked out by his rather cold response.
Jeong Sewoon also showed a taste of his own dancing skills, which Kim Yong Guk actually smiled for. Jeong Sewoon analyzed the beat first, but when he started to dance, his moves were stiff and over-repeated. Yet, Kim Yong Guk complimented him, saying, “I think his basic dance skills are firm.”
The official dance battle begun, and the boys popped out randomly whenever a song they were confident to dance to played. First, Noh Tae Hyun and Samuel had a friendly free dance collaboration. When EXO’s “Ko Ko Bop,” Kim Dong Han came running out to steal Kim Yong Guk’s heart once and for all, but Jung Sewoon and Samuel changed their tactics by dancing in front of Kim Yong Guk rather than the camera. That caused Kim Yong Guk’s attention to be solely focused on them and Kim Dong Han’s efforts go down the drain. Eventually, Kim Dong Han exploded, “Look at me! I’m dancing right now!”
The epic moment came when TWICE’s “Signal” played. Noh Tae Hyun popped out of nowhere and danced a hectic, passionate version of the girl group’s song, which made Kim Yong Guk laugh. After the boys danced to Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor” and Sunmi’s “Gashina,” it was time for Kim Yong Guk to pick the best and worst team.
Kim Yong Guk picked JBJ and Jeong Sewoon without revealing who was first place and who was last place. His clue for the team that was last place was that it was a team that did the same dance over and over again. In the end, the winner was JBJ, and Kim Yong Guk chose Kim Dong Han as the King of Dancing.
When asked why, Kim Yong Guk revealed, “He kept coming out.” Jung Hyung Don argued, “But Samuel and Jeong Sewoon kept coming out as well.” That’s when Kim Yong Guk honestly admitted, “I chose [Kim Dong Han] because we’re on the same team.”
