TWICE Sets New Record For First Week Album Sales As Girl Group
TWICE has beaten yet another one of their own records!
For the fourth time in a row, TWICE has achieved the highest amount of physical albums sold by a girl group within the first week of release with their newest album, “twicestagram.”
According to Hanteo Chart, 122,926 copies of the album were sold during the first week since its release on October 30. For a girl group, this is an extremely high number, as TWICE’s mini album “Signal” held the previous record for first week album sales for girl groups with 114,000 albums.
The music video for their title track “Likey” also recently set a new record as the fastest K-pop girl group music video to reach 40 million views. The song also placed first on weekly charts of five domestic streaming sites—Genie, Naver Music, Olleh, Bugs, and Soribada—on November 6.
Congratulations to TWICE and their fans!
