BTS's RM Shares His Nervousness And Excitement About AMAs, "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," And "Jimmy Kimmel Live"

BTS’s leader RM (Rap Monster) talked about how he and his group members are feeling ahead of their performance at the American Music Awards, as well as their appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

On November 9, Rap Monster held a live show on Naver’s V Live to answer a variety of questions from the fans. One of the questions was about BTS’s future appearances on American music shows and talk shows.

Rap Monster responded, “We’re able to go back to America because of these good opportunities, and my friends are already worrying [about us.]” He added, “It’s my first time on a talk show, so I’m really scared and nervous, but I think I should get advice from people and prepare for it.”

He also talked about how thrilled he felt to go on these shows and the immense popularity they also have in Korea. He said, “I know those shows as well, so I never imagined I would be going on there. I don’t know. To be honest, it still doesn’t feel real. I’m doing image training, but I’m extremely nervous.”

Rap Monster mentioned how he and Jimin talked about the shows the previous night. When Jimin asked him, “Don’t you feel burdened? Aren’t you nervous?,” Rap Monster said he replied, “Yes, I do. I need to do it well to positively influence our team.”

Jimin said he doesn’t know how to feel, so Rap Monster said he told him that’s all right and they needed someone like him in the group because it would be strange if all seven of them were nervous about the shows. Rap Monster also told Jimin that the burden should be on him alone and the other members should just have good reactions, answer the questions, and dance well when asked to.

Rap Monster looked both excited and nervous as he stated, “I can’t believe we’re going on American talk shows. It’s unbelievable, but I’m happy to be able to do something unbelievable. I’m seriously very happy.” He also addressed his international fans by speaking to them in English. He thanked them for all the chances they give to BTS and mentioned he didn’t feel like they deserved all this glory. Rap Monster added, “I just want to return this glory to you guys because you guys deserve this.”
