Son Ho Jun Reveals He Doesn't Consider Himself An Actor Yet
Son Ho Jun recently sat down for an interview to talk about his appearance in KBS 2TV’s “Go Back Couple.”
In the drama, he played the role of Choi Ban Do, a man who was originally 38 years old but traveled back in time to his 20-year-old self.
“I could understand and relate [to Choi Ban Do] while shooting ‘Go Back Couple’ more than any characters that I’ve done so far,” Son Ho Jun said. He went on to explain that he had tried hard to express the emotions that Choi Ban Do was feeling, which helped him understand the character in depth.
Son Ho Jun also revealed that his goal was to “become an actor.” Although he is already acknowledged by many for his great acting, he was not generous in his self-evaluation.
Son Ho Jun said, “Now my goal is to become an actor. A person whom anybody can say, ‘He is an actor.’ I think it’s easy for a person to get shameless. I don’t think I should be brazen to myself. If I acknowledge myself [as good], I could have ideas of taking a different path. I don’t really give myself good reviews.”
When told that he was seen as an actor by many people already, Son Ho Jun replied that he was simply grateful for those who compliment him.
“To be honest, I don’t know when I’ll become an actor,” he added. “I think I should put in the effort to become an actor in order to continuously improve.” He then talked about having heard a senior actor saying that he didn’t really know what acting exactly was, even though he was a great actor acknowledged by everyone. “If he is like that, who am I to say [I know what acting is],” Son Ho Jun questioned. “I think it is right for me to keep on trying,” he concluded.
“Go Back Couple” recently came to an end with great reviews. Watch the final episode below!
