EXO Talks About Their Guinness Record & Being First K-Pop Artist Featured In Dubai Fountain Show
At the press conference for their latest concert, EXO shared their thoughts on some of their recent accomplishments, including their 2018 Guinness World Record.
On November 26, EXO held a press conference before the third and final night of their concert “EXO PLANET #4 – The EℓyXiOn,” which was held at Gocheok Sky Dome. During the conference, the idols spoke about having recently been awarded a Guinness World Record for most Daesangs won at MAMA (the Mnet Asian Music Awards).
“I want to say thank you to our fans [for making the record possible],” said Baekhyun. He added, “While we were preparing for our concert, we had very few outside activities, and yet our fans waited patiently [for us] and showed us love. I want to thank them for that.”
EXO also recently achieved another international milestone. Starting in January 2018, the group’s latest title track, “Power,” will be played during the world-famous Dubai Fountain water show at the Burj Khalifa Lake. Notably, “Power” will be the first Korean song ever to be featured in the show.
When asked about the accomplishment, leader Suho replied, “We think of it as a great honor. We are very excited that our music will be part of a world-renowned fountain show, and we also really want to go and see it for ourselves.”
“The EℓyXiOn” marks EXO’s first return to the Gocheok Sky Dome since October 2015, when the group had the honor of staging Korea’s first-ever dome concert. It is their fourth solo concert since their debut in 2012.
After the successful completion of their concert in Seoul, EXO will kick off their world tour in Japan on December 22.
Congratulations again to EXO!
