Kang Dong Won Accepts Role In Upcoming Hollywood Action Film "Tsunami LA"

Actor Kang Dong Won is set to appear in a Hollywood movie!

On December 17, according to Variety magazine, Kang Dong Won will be working with director Simon West to star in the upcoming action film “Tsunami LA.”

The film “Tsunami LA” tells the story of a monstrous wave that ends up hitting Los Angeles, and is directed by Simon West, who also directed “Tomb Raider,” “Con Air,” “The Expendables 2,” and “Gun Shy.”

Simon West commented, “It makes me happy to be able to show the world an actor with excellent skills through this project. I really wanted Kang Dong Won to join this film. We want to give the audience some enjoyment by reflecting the diversity in Los Angeles. We are planning to wrap up casting and work with talented actors from around the world such as the United States, Europe, Australia, China, and Brazil.”

Kang Dong Won said, “Many people from our generation probably have special memories that surround Simon West’s film ‘Con Air.’ I enjoyed reading the scenario, and I think it is a rare opportunity to make an international debut with a leading role.”

He continued, saying, “If I’m able to receive a good response in Hollywood, then I think it will help invite greater investments in Korean film budgets.”

The film is planned to release in 2019.
