GFRIEND To Channel '90s K-Pop Girl Groups For Their 2017 KBS Song Festival Performance
GFRIEND is going to be recreating popular stages by their seniors for 2017 KBS Song Festival.
As one of the eight teams who were invited to perform at this year’s festivities, GFRIEND will be taking fans on a trip down memory lane to match the “Confession/Go Back” theme of 2017 KBS Song Festival. They will be recreating various performances by popular 1990s K-pop girl groups, putting their own spin on the classics with their signature lovely but powerful charms.
GFRIEND has strong digital music records, becoming the first girl group to have two songs with over 100 million streams (“Me Gustas Tu” and “Rough”). They showcased two different concepts this year, from the power-chic “Fingertip” in March and the sweet but powerful “Love Whisper” and “Summer Rain” later this year. They recently sold out their first solo concert in three minutes and was crowned the “Best Korean Act” of 2017 at the MTV European Music Awards, proving just how popular they are.
The girl group is also said to be preparing a special event full of love and warmth that will melt away the winter cold, and all will be revealed at 2017 KBS Song Festival, which will be held on December 29.
