EXO's Lay To Join Chinese Historical Drama Starring Tang Wei

EXO’s Lay will be joining Chinese actress Tang Wei in a new historical drama.

The drama is called “Empress of the Ming,” and it revolves around Sun Ruowei, whose entire family was killed when she was young. She becomes the concubine of crown prince Zhu Zhanji and investigates the truth behind her family’s death.

Tang Wei will be playing the empress Sun Ruowei, and Lay will take the role of her son Zhu Qizhen.

Although Lay has been in various dramas and films, this will be the first time Lay will be in a traditional historical drama.

“Empress of the Ming” is set to air in 2019.

On another note, Lay has recently released his music video for “Goodbye Christmas,” and he will also be the MC for the Chinese version of “Produce 101.”
