Exclusive: "Radio Romance" Cast Talks About Age Gap, Hopes For Success, And More

Upcoming drama KBS’s “Radio Romance” held a press conference ahead of its first broadcast on January 25 at Conrad Hotel.

During the press conference, Producing Director (PD) Moon Joon Ha and the main cast (Yoon Doojoon, Kim So Hyun, Yoon Park, and Girl’s Day’s Yura) talked about the drama and their characters. “Radio Romance” is a pivotal drama for all four leads. The drama provides Yoon Doojoon and Yura with their first non-cable channel lead roles. This will be Kim So Hyun’s first drama as an official adult as well. Lastly, Yoon Park undergoes a considerable transformation from his previous roles through this new drama.

When asked about his large age difference with Kim So Hyun, Yoon Doojoon revealed that Kim So Hyun actually feels like an older sister on set. As an experienced former child actress, Kim So Hyun has acted with many actors who are older than Yoon Doojoon as well.

Kim So Hyun expressed her excitement about taking on her first role as an official adult and talked about her hopes that viewers will love the drama. Like Yoon Doojoon, the actress also shared about her affinity for radio.

Yoon Park attracted a lot of attention as his character is described as a sort of crazy and unusual producer. The actor said he was excited about transforming and trying out a different type of role.

Yura explained about how while her character is an antagonist, she aims to be a lovable one. She also talked about how all the Girl’s Day members support everyone’s acting projects dramas and monitor them.

Producing director Moon Joon Ha was asked about a scene that involved Kim So Hyun falling into water during the cold winter weather. The PD explained that they had prepared a trailer next to the filming site and made sure conditions were safe for both Kim So Hyun and another actress. When asked for spoilers and clues regarding what will happen in the drama, the PD asked everyone to look forward to the love triangle between Yoon Doojoon, Kim So Hyun, and Yoon Park.

“Radio Romance” is a romantic drama about a top star Ji Su Ho who ends up becoming a radio DJ (Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon), rookie radio scriptwriter Song Geu Rim (Kim So Hyun), talented but foul-tempered radio PD Lee Kang (Yoon Park), and ambitious actress dreaming of a great comeback Jin Tae Ri (Girl’s Day’s Yura).
