Friend Of Famous Korean Actor Charged With Attempted Rape Against Actor's Wife
A famous Korean actor, hereafter referred to as “A,” has responded to reports that his friend had attempted to rape his wife.
On February 2, the Yeoju branch of the Suwon District Court Criminal Investigation Department sentenced the actor’s friend, hereafter referred to as “C,” to one year and six months in prison for attempted rape. The department stated, “The victim’s testimony, which serves as evidence, is both credible and consistent.” After his sentence was confirmed, C was immediately placed under court custody and received an order to take a 40-hour sexual violence educational program.
According to reports, C had attempted rape against the actor’s wife, who lives in the Philippines with their young daughter, last fall. Many were shocked when they found that C and A were known to have been best friends for 20 years.
A told Sports Chosun, “Our entire family is suffering mentally at the moment, and I’m worried they will receive more damage now that the case is known to the public.”
The actor continued, “I finished consulting with a legal representative. I would earnestly like to inform everyone that we are planning to carry out fierce legal action in response to any reports or speculations that mention [the victim’s] real name or characteristics.”
