MBC Shares First Look At Woo Do Hwan And Red Velvet's Joy In Upcoming Drama

MBC’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “The Great Seducer” (working title) has released its first stills, featuring leads Woo Do Hwan and Red Velvet’s Joy.

“The Great Seducer” will be the story of young men and women who throw themselves into a dangerous game of love without realizing they’ll be dedicating their entire lives to it. Based on the French novel “Dangerous Liaisons,” the drama is set to start the year on a high for MBC.

Woo Do Hwan will play Kwon Shi Hyun, an homme fatale in his twenties who is the main player of the game of seduction while Joy will play girl crush Eun Tae Hee, who believes that getting caught up in love is the most pitiful thing in the world. The two will meet as ‘the seducer’ and ‘the seduced’ in the drama. The new stills show the start of the two characters’ journey together, as Woo Do Hwan waits for someone with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, and Joy is seen turning around to respond to his calls. While he tries to draw her in with an intense gaze and a small quirk of his lips, she is chic and cool as she observes his actions.

The scene was shot on a day when temperatures dropped as low as -15 degrees, but Woo Do Hwan and Joy were not dissuaded and warmed up the atmosphere with their passion and dedication. They are said to have high-five’d each other when they first saw each other on set, and they had everyone smiling when cameras weren’t rolling with their bright energy. Woo Do Hwan stated, “I think I’m having a lot of fun because I’m filming a lot of scenes with other actors my age. We will do our best to channel that positive energy to our viewers.” Joy stated, “I’m always thinking about how to completely immerse myself in my new role. I’m learning so much from working with a great director and amazing staff.”

MBC’s “The Great Seducer” is set to air its first episode on March 12.
