TWICE Beats Own First Day Sales Record + Tops Oricon's Daily Single Chart With "Candy Pop"
TWICE’s newest Japanese single is another hit!
The girl group released “Candy Pop” on February 7, and took first place on Oricon’s daily single chart (dated February 6) with 117,486 units sold.
This is the highest number of albums sold on the first day in terms of TWICE’s Japanese releases, as “#TWICE” saw 46,871 sold units and “One More Time” recorded 94,957 sold units. With this, TWICE continues to hold the record for the highest number of albums sold on the first day of sales out of all Korean girl groups who debuted in Japan.
“Candy Pop” also placed first on Tower Records’ online daily sales chart, with all three versions of their album ranked first to third.
As both “#TWICE” and “One More Time” reached over 250,000 in sold units, and were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), TWICE’s newest single release may reach this milestone once again.
