7 Times Girl Groups Made Us Wish We Owned Suits
When it comes to concepts and fashion in the K-pop world, girl groups are some of the top trendsetters. From schoolgirl uniforms to ’80s bodysuits and even sushi costumes, girl groups have truly done it all. But sometimes the simplest of looks can be the most powerful, especially when that look is a classic suit.
So, in no particular order, here are seven girl groups who effortlessly rock a power suit – and make us want to buy a couple for our closets, too.
Red Velvet
It’s hard to believe that “Be Natural” was only Red Velvet’s second release. Even back then as rookies, the girl group proved how seamlessly they could transition from bright, youthful cheerleaders to sophisticated women. This chic suit look — paired with their hypnotic chair choreography — was legendary, and we’re still not over it (nearly) four years later.
MAMAMOO
Complementing their soulful, funky sound with these retro suits, MAMAMOO was especially dapper during promotions for their single “Décalcomanie” in 2016.
The ladies also dazzled in these unique, bejeweled suits for “Piano Man.”
And also in these white suits with black fedoras, too.
CLC
Who would’ve thought that CLC would rock their best suit look in a song titled “Black Dress”? CLC’s sharp, tailored suits match their recent comeback so well, it makes us wish we could be the eighth member just to wear them, too.
Check out their outfits in action during their live performance of “Black Dress” below.
After School
The After School members are like chameleons when it comes to tackling new concepts, so it’s no surprise that the multitalented girl group is a stunning batch of professional women in their 2013 Japanese single “Shh.” Elegant, classic, and sharp, After School makes the average, basic suit look like it came fresh off the runway.
f(x)
Suits don’t always have to look one type of way. f(x) illustrates this in this photo from their 2015 comeback “4 Walls.” Despite wearing the same outfit, the f(x) members’ personal styles still radiate through their small variations – such as Luna’s short suit, Amber’s completely buttoned dress shirt and open blazer, Krystal’s buttoned blazer but unbuttoned dress shirt, and Victoria’s both unbuttoned dress shirt and blazer.
TWICE
Celebrating their second anniversary in style, TWICE stole all ONCE’s hearts yet again when they dropped this charismatic teaser for their “Once Begins” fan meeting last year. The chart-topping ladies kept their sleek suit look on for the actual fan meeting as well, overflowing with charm in their cover of Girls’ Generation’s “Genie.”

Girls’ Generation
Bold, often vibrant suits punctuated many of Girls’ Generation’s “Mr. Mr.” live stages back in 2014. The style was simple but strong – demonstrating both their growth as artists and maturity as women. From red over white to highlighter-yellow over black, the veteran girl group showcased just how versatile (and fierce) the businesswoman look can be.
Girls’ Generation also wore pale pink suits in this performance of “Mr. Mr.”:
