Red Velvet's Joy And Woo Do Hwan Talk About Their First Impressions And Chemistry In "Tempted"
On March 8, the cast for MBC’s upcoming drama “Tempted” attended the official press conference along with PD Kang In.
Adapted from the French novel “Dangerous Liaisons,” “Tempted” tells the story of a group of youths who jump into a dangerous game of love. The drama stars Woo Do Hwan, Red Velvet’s Joy, Moon Ga Young, Kim Min Jae, Kim Suh Hyung, Shin Sung Woo, and Jeon Mi Sun.
When asked to share on what viewers can look forward to, PD Kang In replied, “I chose actors who are good-looking, even at a glance. I take great pride in the casting. It makes me happy that we’re able to present viewers with a great ensemble made up of good actors. The thing about love stories is that there may be days when you forget about them, but these stories always stay in our hearts, don’t they? No matter what age they are, viewers will be able to enjoy this drama and relate to it, saying things like, ‘I also had those moments’ or ‘This is happening to me too!'”
Woo Do Hwan talked about frequently having to deliver cheesy lines, saying, “I normally have a cheesy way of speaking. I enjoy it. I like saying things like, ‘How could you not like me?’ This was one of the many reasons why I chose this project. I like a character that is narcissistic.” Joy laughed and added, “Although in the previews it shows me saying, ‘What’s wrong with him?’ but I feel like I would say cheesy things too.”
Woo Do Hwan shared more on his chemistry with Joy, saying, “It’s like we’re the same age. We don’t use honorifics. We call each other by our character names, Shi Hyun and Tae Hee. We enjoy playing childishly while we’re filming, and PD Kang In, who gives us great strength, also plays with us.”
Joy shared her first impression of Woo Do Hwan, saying, “I thought Woo Do Hwan was a little scary when I first met him. But after getting to know him, now he feels like a neighborhood oppa. He is someone that makes you feel comfortable. Whenever I feel nervous, he supports me and so I think our teamwork will translate well into chemistry.”
“Tempted” airs on March 12, 10 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki!
