Reasons To Watch tvN's New Police Drama 'Live'

With its strong cast and relateable characters, tvN’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Live” promises to show the chaotic yet ordinary lives of policemen. Here are three reasons to watch the premiere of “Live.”

1. Strong production team

Penned by writer Noh Hee Kyung and produced by director Kim Kyu Tae, the two are notable in the drama industry for creating well-made, popular dramas. With successful dramas like “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “That Winter, The Wind Blows,’ “Padam Padam,” “Worlds Within,” and more under their belt, the two have teamed up once more to create a new drama. To prepare for this drama, writer Noh Hee Kyung reportedly spent one year interviewing and consulting with real policemen. With her ability to write storylines filled with warmth and humanity, one of the key points to the drama will be its strong script.

2. The stories of real policemen

The drama will show the stories of policemen who are no different than ordinary people. Rather than the typical dramas that focus on cases, “Live” will focus on the difficult day-to-day work that these policemen do to keep justice. Noh Hee Kyung shared, “The people who change the world are the majority, the ordinary people. It’s not one hero, but the story of the common man that I tried to deal with. Through the drama, I wanted to convey hope to the society of today and the future.”

3. The actors

Another point to look forward to is the actors. Jung Yoo Mi and Lee Kwang Soo will be taking on the roles of new policemen Han Jung Oh and Yeom Sang Soo. The two actors prepared a lot for their roles, including chopping their hair short to fit the part.

During the press conference for the drama, Jung Yoo Mi commented, “Through ‘Live,’ I want to convey the hard work and emotions of patrol station policemen.” Lee Kwang Soo also shared, “I have an especially strong desire to do this drama well. So I studied the script a lot.”

Director Kim Kyu Tae also picked his key point to the drama and stated, “The focus of the drama is ‘reality.’ We put in a lot of effort to make detailed characters that seem like they might step out from your neighborhood patrol car. We will work hard to show viewers what it’s really like on-site for the policemen.”

“Live” will air its first episode on March 10 at 9 p.m. KST.
