PENTAGON Expresses Gratitude As "Shine" Shows Impressive Rise On Music Charts
PENTAGON’s “Shine” is belatedly rising on charts!
The title track of their sixth mini album “Positive,” “Shine” was released on April 2. Since its release, the lowest it placed on Melon’s daily chart was in the 500s, but it slowly rose to place No. 186 on April 29. Throughout this time, it never entered the top 100 of the real-time chart.
Then on May 1, the track rose to No. 95 of Melon’s real-time chart at 8 a.m. KST and to No. 94 at 9 a.m. KST. These times are especially notable as the morning is when the general public uses Melon the most.
The song has remained in the top 100 for the 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. charts, as well.
At a previous comeback showcase in 2016, PENTAGON had revealed that one of their goals is to “chart in” (place in the top 100), and this feat has now been achieved for the first time.
After seeing the 8 a.m. chart, Kino shared a screenshot on Twitter and wrote, “I don’t think I can sleep. I love you, I love you, I really love you our Universe (fan club name).”

The members also left various comments through their official fancafe.
Yeo One wrote, “My heart is so moved,” and Hongseok commented, “What is this? Is this a miracle?”
Kino shared, “I was exhausted after working on music all night, but after hearing the news that we charted in from my parents, I became suddenly wide awake. I am so happy that my hands are shaking.” He continued, “Someone could say why I’m making such a fuss about this, but even a thousand words are not enough for me right now. I am so happy that I think tears might fall. I will receive it as a sign to work harder. I will not forget this day on which we received a gift from you.”
Hui, who co-composed “Shine” with E’Dawn, posted, “Kino was grabbing my hand and waking me up. I was tired and wondering why he was doing so, but a crazy thing had happened. My goodness..Our Universe, I really thank you and love you.”
Congratulations to PENTAGON!
