BTS's "Fake Love" MV Gains Amazing Number Of Views In First 24 Hours
Update: BTS’s “Fake Love” Confirmed As MV With 3rd Highest Views Within 24 Hours In YouTube History
BTS’s latest MV has achieved an astounding number of views in the first 24 hours!
BTS released the music video for “Fake Love,” the title track of their third studio album “Love Yourself: Tear” at 6 p.m. KST on May 18. As of 6 p.m. KST on May 19, only 24 hours after its release, the music video had reached just under 41 million views at a count of around 40,961,289 on YouTube! However, an official count from YouTube will be needed to know the exact record.
This means that BTS has set a new record for the highest views on a K-pop group MV within the first 24 hours, with their previous record being 20,975,068 views for their last comeback “DNA.”
Not only this, but the achievement makes BTS’s “Fake Love” MV one of the most-viewed music videos in 24 hours of all time. PSY’s “Gentleman” music video holds second place as it drew in 38.4 million views in the first day. The current record for the most views in the first 24 hours since a music video’s release is held by Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do,” which amassed 43.2 million views in one day. YouTube’s official count will be needed to determine whether a new record has been set by BTS, but surpassing 40 million views in under 24 hours is an amazing feat in and of itself.
Congratulations to BTS on the amazing achievement and why not celebrate by rewatching “Fake Love”?
Editor’s note: The article has been edited to reflect that YouTube has not released an official view count for “Fake Love” as of 6 p.m. KST on May 19.
