Actor Yoon Tae Young Removed From tvN Drama After Drunk Driving Accident
The upcoming drama “Dear Husband of 100 Days” (literal translation) has announced that it will be removing Yoon Tae Young from its cast after the police revealed that the actor was involved in a drunk driving accident earlier this month.
On May 20, the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul stated that Yoon Tae Young had crashed into another car while driving under the influence of alcohol. According to the police, the actor hit a car that was waiting at a traffic signal on May 13 around 8 p.m. KST in the Gangnam district of Seoul.
Yoon Tae Young reportedly gave the owner of the car his contact information before leaving the scene of the accident, and he was called in by the police the next day for questioning. The actor’s blood alcohol content was found to be 0.079 percent at approximately 2 p.m. KST on May 14. After factoring in the time that had elapsed since the accident using the official Widmark formula, the police determined Yoon Tae Young’s blood alcohol content to be 0.140 percent and suspended his license accordingly.
In an official statement released on May 20, the producers of “Dear Husband of 100 Days” announced their intent to replace Yoon Tae Young with another actor. They remarked, “After internal discussions, we have decided to remove Yoon Tae Young and cast another actor in his role. The replacement actor has not yet been determined.”
The producers added, “Because ‘Dear Husband of 100 Days’ is a pre-produced drama, we do not expect to face much difficulty in our production.”
Meanwhile, Yoon Tae Young’s agency stated, “Without attempting to give any excuses, Yoon Tae Young is currently undergoing a period of reflection and self-restraint in response to this incident. He offers his deepest apologies in regards to the fact that he has disappointed people by causing this scandal.”
“Dear Husband of 100 Days” is an upcoming tvN comic mystery historical drama starring EXO’s D.O. and Nam Ji Hyun.
