JYP's 1st Chinese Boy Group Sets Date For Official Debut

Boy Story, a new idol group formed by JYP Entertainment and Chinese media conglomerate Tencent, has announced a date for their official debut!

JYP China, a subsidiary of JYP Entertainment, and TME (Tencent Music Entertainment) have joined forces to create a new hip hop boy group. Boy Story consists entirely of young Chinese idols whose ages range from 11 to 14 years old, and the group will focus on showcasing powerful dance performances while making music with a positive message.

On June 4, it was announced that Boy Story would be making their official debut in China this September. The six-member group has previously released three pre-debut singles—after bursting onto the Chinese music scene with their first single “How Old R U” last September, Boy Story has gone on to drop the singles “Can’t Stop” and “Jump Up” in the lead-up to their debut.

Ahead of their official debut in September, Boy Story will be releasing one final pre-debut single produced by JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin Young himself. The song, “Handz Up,” is scheduled to be released on June 12.

A representative for JYP China remarked, “Boy Story, who has been training for around two years, has already shown its members’ abilities and its group style and color through its pre-debut single project. Once they make their official debut, we expect that they will be able to receive a positive response and gain the love of even more Chinese fans. We are also currently planning a large-scale showcase and tour to kick off the real start of Boy Story’s journey.”
