3 Reasons To Look Forward To "What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?"

Just one day left before tvN’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?,” makes its premiere!

Based on a popular web novel of the same name, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” stars Park Seo Joon as a perfect, yet narcissistic boss and Park Min Young as his incredibly efficient secretary.

Here are a few reasons to tune in to the premiere on June 6:

Chemistry between Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young

An interesting collaboration between the name of the game in rom-coms (Park Seo Joon) and a rom-com newbie (Park Min Young)! Both have the great looks and the acting talent to back up their roles, which will come in handy as the chemistry between leads is key to a good romantic comedy.

Although this is not Park Seo Joon’s first time in a romantic comedy, with his previous productions having been wildly successful (“She Was Pretty,” “Fight My Way“), the unusual personality of his character, whose self-love is off the charts, leans hard into the comedic side of the actor’s trademark charm.

Meanwhile, Park Min Young plays a character with two sides: the perfect secretary at work, neatly pressed and ready for any situation, and a homebody klutz, with no past history of dating. Park Min Young has previously been known for melodramas, so many are looking forward to seeing the actress shake up her image by also leaning into the comedy in her new project.

Both actors are also known for their chemistry with their co-stars (Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won in “Fight My Way,” Park Min Young and Yeon Woo Jin in “Queen for 7 Days“), so we can’t wait to see how they sizzle on-screen together!

The original novel “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?” drew audiences because of its balance between the relatable office stories and characters and the ideal romance. Everyone has imagined something exciting happening in a dreary workplace – why not a blossoming love?

Despite their “perfect” exteriors, both Park Seo Joon and Park Min Young’s characters are awkward when it comes to love. Park Seo Joon is so obsessed with himself that he doesn’t know anything about dating, while Park Min Young has never had time to date because of her boss. As they navigate their shared workplace, they also have to open up about their own hearts and feelings.
