"Produce 101" Contestant Kim Seokyung To Debut In New Girl Group

Former “Produce 101” contestant Kim Seokyung will be debuting this year!

On June 8, a representative for Kiwi Media Group announced, “We are currently preparing a seven-member girl group that will include trainee Kim Seokyung, who appeared on Mnet’s ‘Produce 101.’ We are aiming for a debut in the second half of this year.”

In addition to Kim Seokyung, the girl group will include members from a number of different countries, including China and Japan. Composer Kim Hyung Suk, a former panelist on MBC’s “King of Masked Singer,” has undertaken the task of personally training and producing the group himself.

Kim Seokyung received attention during the first season of “Produce 101” as a member of the “Dance Avengers” team, which included Jeon Somi, Chungha, CLC’s Eunbin, and Weki Meki members Choi Yoojung and Kim Doyeon. The group performed a dance cover of British pop star Jessie J’s hit song “Bang Bang,” which became so popular that it even attracted the attention of Jessie J herself.
