MAMAMOO's Wheein Talks About Her Experience Going Through A Slump

On the June 8 broadcast of JTBC4’s “Secret Sister,” MAMAMOO’s Wheein talked about a time when she experienced a slump.

Wheein is appearing on the reality show with Hyoyeon, and when Hyoyeon asked her if she has fun when promoting, she said, “I feel sorry to my fans for saying this, but there were a lot of times when it wasn’t fun. When I had fallen into a deep slump. It wasn’t recently, but maybe one or two years ago.”

“The slump hit me in full force, and I had a really hard time. It wasn’t all happy, but because singing and performing is something I like to do, from a certain point on, I realized that I was having fun. It was confusing,” said Wheein.

On how to get out of a slump, Wheein said she doesn’t really know yet. “These days, I try to think more deeply about things. Sometimes, even if I know the answer, I might pretend like I don’t.”

Hyoyeon offered some words of encouragement, saying, “Running away is not an answer. When you’re feeling what you are right now, that means you’ve become a bigger person.”
