Watch: "Produce 48" Previews Drama And Tears In Intense Teaser For Premiere
Only a few days remain until the much-anticipated premiere of “Produce 48”!
In a new teaser released on June 11, the contestants arrive at the studio for level evaluations.
As done for the two seasons of “Produce 101,” it appears that contestants will choose where they sit when they arrive.
The signature pyramid of seats is shown, and the voiceover begins with a Korean contestant who says, “I am definitely going to sit in the No. 1 spot.” A Japanese contestant asks, “Who is sitting in the No. 1 spot?” Other voices are heard saying phrases like, “I definitely want to sit in the No. 1 spot,” and “Pushing someone out and sitting there…it’s scary.”
A group of Japanese contestants walk in, and a Korean contestant’s voice says, “I’m not sure about this….This is a Korean program,” while another one comments, “I only know [Miyawaki] Sakura.”
Various Korean contestants showcase their agency performances, and one Japanese contestants remarks, “It was discouraging to see the difference in skill levels between Japan and Korea.”
Japanese contestants’ performances are then shown, with one Korean trainee responding, “They can’t even speak Korean,” and other trainees adding, “Talent-wise, I’m not so sure.”
Dance trainer Bae Yoon Jeong asks a contestant, “What were you chosen for?”
The last scene gives a glimpse of Miyawaki Sakura, the Japanese contestant known to be in the first center position, shedding tears as she says, “I have nowhere to run away.”
