BTS Named One Of '25 Most Influential People On The Internet' By TIME Magazine For 2nd Year In A Row

TIME magazine has recognized BTS’s influence in social media once again!

On June 28, TIME revealed their annual list of “The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet,” which is based on two main criteria: contenders’ “global impact on social media and their overall ability to drive news.”

BTS was named in the list (which is unranked) for the second year in a row, alongside people around the world from many different fields, including Rihanna, the students of Parkland, Florida, the women behind the “#BabaeAko” movement in the Philippines, President Donald Trump, blogger-activist Eman al Nafjan, Kylie Jenner, Kanye West, and Naomi Watanabe, to name a few.

Raisa Bruner of TIME Magazine cites that BTS was chosen for not only their 2018 achievements — like debuting at No.1 on Billboard 200, second win as Top Social Artist at Billboard Music Awards, and the number of views “Fake Lovegarnered in 24 hours — but also for ARMY, “their passionate social fanbase” that is “the real engine behind their success.” TIME also notes how the BTS has “at least 50 million followers across English-language social media platforms.”

BTS was also nominated for TIME Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People Of 2018” list earlier this year. Although they did not make the final selection, the group was notably the winner of the 2018 TIME 100 reader poll.

Congratulations to BTS!
