BTOB's Yook Sungjae Gives Helpful Lecture On Self-Confidence On "Master In The House"
BTOB’s Yook Sungjae gave a lecture on confidence to college students on SBS’s “Master in the House.”
On the July 15 episode, the cast held a busking lecture at the suggestion of their newest master and Korean history teacher Seol Min Suk.
Yook Sungjae began his lecture with ease, introducing himself and even singing a bit of BTOB’s newest title track “Only One for Me” for the students.
He then delved into the topic of self-confidence for his talk. He revealed, “I honestly don’t know what I’m saying right now. To be honest, even though I’ve been on stage for seven years, there are many times I look at the floor because the stage is still unfamiliar and I’m nervous.”
He continued to give the students a tip on how he calms his nerves and something that he still uses to this day.
Yook Sungjae said, “They say that the feelings of nervousness calm down when people’s skin touches skin. That’s right. Like holding the hand of the person next to you or hugging, then they say that anxiousness calms down.”
He continued, “The cool thing is, they say that your skin touching your skin also has the same effect. So, what do I do?”
The BTOB member then hugged and pat himself while saying, “Sungjae, it’s okay. You can do it. You’re a big person. You can do a good job. Good luck!”
He added, “I think the lack of self-confidence is the biggest concern for myself as well as the people around me.”
Yook Sungjae explained, “There are times when causeless self-confidence creates big synergy. We’re around the same age, the same generation. When we take the causeless self-confidence to our future, then our self-confidence has a cause based on the results of our future.”
He continued, “So, although it may be causeless self-confidence now, if we go forth it to the future, then it’ll have a cause.”
The master and other cast members watched his lecture from a bus. Seol Min Suk praised him by saying, “This is the best condition that non-formal lecturer Yook Sungjae can show.”
“Master in the House” airs on Sundays at 6:25 p.m. KST. Check out the latest episode below!
