Kwon Hyun Bin Talks About His Goals As A Musician, Social Media Misunderstandings, And More

In a recent interview for the August edition of @star1 magazine, Kwon Hyun Bin talked about his aspirations as a musician, his ideal type, and misunderstandings due to social media.

Kwon Hyun Bin has been working on music in his off time. He said, “On days when I’m not filming for MBC’s ‘Dunia,’ I’m working on songs. I’m currently learning how to write music. I want to get to a point where I can write music on my own, so I’m working really hard. I want to write fresh, atypical lyrics.”

He’d rather be called a singer than a model. “Working as a model for three to four years, I’ve shown a lot of that side of me, but as a singer, I haven’t done anything outside of JBJ. Because of that, I’m curious and excited for what kind of singer I can be.”

His role models are A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, and Beenzino. Kwon Hyun Bin said, “The three don’t really have anything in common, but they’re all my role models. I really like Beenzino’s music style, from his tight rapping, his groove, to the vibes of his songs.”

Talking about his ideal type, Kwon Hyun Bin said, “I like people who are good to their parents. I fall for good manners.”

He hears from a lot of people that he’s a bit 4-D, said Kwon Hyun Bin, but he doesn’t agree. “At times, I’ll show interest in random items in random situations. I don’t know if that’s the reason why, but people will say that I’m 4-D. However, I’m definitely not 4-D. In ways, I’m more serious than people think, and I’m very thoughtful.”

On what changed after his promotions with JBJ, Kwon Hyun Bin said, “It was the first time that I realized that something I do without much thought can look like it has meaning to others. A couple of days ago, I posted a photo making a half heart, and people thought I was sending a message to my girlfriend. I don’t have a girlfriend, and I’m not dating. I think it happened because after JBJ promotions, I’ve become someone with some influence and with fans that think of me.”
